    Description

Vintage 1973 CapriTaurus Appalachian/mountain dulcimer, Model 20. Soundhole label indicates that this dulcimer was made on September 6th, 1973, in Felton, California.  Appears to be a spruce top with walnut back, sides, and fingerboard. Tuning keys all work and hold tune, though some turn more stiffly than others. Fresh set of D'Addario strings just installed. Scratches, dings, and other wear.  CapriTaurus was founded by Howard and Michael Rugg in 1969, and later evolved into Folk Roots Dulcimers (later renamed Folkcraft). Howard Rugg recently revived the CapriTaurus brand and has resumed building dulcimers.
