    Description

This pretty, handmade dulcimer is in great condition and really sings.  Made of all solid wood, it appears to be about 40 - 50 years old, with just a little wear from playing.  There is one small well-repaired crack on the lower bass side by the end block.
The top is of solid softwood (likely pine or fir). The sides are of curly birds-eye hard maple, with a one-piece back made of oak. The neck and fretboard are of hard maple. The open-tuning peg box has a decorative circle of walnut inlaid on both sides. The finish appears to be a light shellac or varnish.
The vibrating string length is 27 5/8", with 17 brass frets. Overall length is about 35 1/2", and weight is just over 2 lb., giving it a lot of resonance.
A nice, one-of-a-kind dulcimer for a beginner or intermediate player, with a lot of tone and easy to play.
