    Description

For auction is a nice piece of art pottery made by the Peters and Reed Company of Zanesville, Ohio. The shape is a flaring vase and it is done in their hard to find Shadow Ware drip glaze line. This vase is a nice size as it measures 8 1/8" tall and is 3 3/4" in diameter at the shoulder. The inside top opening measures 1 9/16" in diameter.
The vase has a wonderful tapered shoulder form with a curling raised neck. It displays one of the nicest Peters & Reed Glazes I have ever owned. The glaze is known as their Shadow Ware line and it is just gorgeous. The marbleized glaze runs down the sides of the vessel is outstanding. You can see see deep blues, rusts, browns, yellows and other colors. This is set against a Salmon to Terra Cotta high gloss background with the glaze drips also being done in a high gloss. The pictures speak for themselves on the glaze runs.
This vase is considered to be in excellent condition as there are no cracks, chips, nicks or dings. The vase shows very minor signs of use and really no excuses to be made. This piece is signed with the "Zane Pottery" impressed logo along with "Zane Ware", "Made in the USA" under it.
Peters and Reed Pottery (1897-1919) was bought out in 1920 and the name was changed to Zane Pottery of Zanesville, Ohio. They still produced some of the same styles as Peters and Reed. They changed from red clay to white clay products in 1926. Frank Ferrel designed this line for Peters and Reed. He was employed there from 1906-1918. In 1918 he left Peters and Reed to work for Roseville Pottery. The piece was made circa 1920-1930.

I want to apologize for slowing down my shipping time. Ebay forced me into managed payments in July of this year 2020.
I used to get my money in 24 hours. I now get it in 3-4 business days. I was told it would be better for me and my fees would go down. This has been the opposite as my fees have actually increased and now it takes longer for me to receive the payments
. Because of this slowdown I will not ship until the payment has made it into my bank account. No store lets you out of the building with the
    merchandise
    unless it is paid for.
    They are also n
ow charging all sellers a commission of 11.5% on sales tax. Pay Pal used to charge 2.9% payment processing fee but Ebay has changed this to 11.5%. This is an increase of 8.6% on the sales tax portion. They are now making a profit on the sales tax and treating it as a sale which in my eyes is wrong!! They did the same on the shipping charges several years ago. They use to not charge anything and now they are charging 11.5% commission on shipping as well. This has raised the cost to ship items to you, the buyer and this is factored into my shipping charges.
If you feel what Ebay is doing is wrong or you don't agree them please contact Ebay and voice your opinion. Maybe if enough of you do this, they will change their policy.
